What Glow records for a sitting

A procedure in a UK studio is already wrapped in local authority licensing, age rules and aftercare. The bit that still falls on the floor is the file for that sitting: who signed, what they were told, which ink went in, which needles were opened. When Environmental Health or a claim asks, you want that on the appointment, not in a drawer of photocopies.

Glow is booking software with that file attached. The artist still does the work. The studio still holds the licence. The product will not tell a council you are compliant.

Studio language, not salon language

The public page can talk about procedures and sittings, not treatments and techs, if that is how you set the nouns. A large back piece is not a 45-minute slot with a hope. You can price by the hour or the day. Touch-ups sit as their own service. The diary does not pretend a six-hour session is a colour and cut.

If the same building also pierces, those services keep their own consent and jewellery batches. You are not running two platforms for one front door.

Glow records what you set and shows when it was recorded. It does not decide what your insurer, council, pigment supplier or prescriber requires, and it does not claim a salon is compliant.

How a sitting actually gets booked

A consult can be its own slot. A small flash can be a fixed price. A sleeve day can be an hourly or a day rate. The client sees what you publish. They sign before they pay the deposit. You mark them done and aftercare leaves without someone remembering to screenshot the sheet.

If the studio also does walk-in piercing on a Saturday, those bookings sit on the same diary with a shorter duration and their own jewellery batch. You are not running a tattoo app and a piercing binder. Artists can have colours on the calendar so the floor can see who is on the big machine and who is on the jewellery tray.

Clients find you on Instagram. They should book on a page that looks like the studio, not like a marketplace that suggests the shop two doors down. Glow is that page. The licence on the wall is still yours.

Deposits on a large sitting are not optional if you want the day to hold. A client who pays a deposit into your Stripe is a client who is coming, or a client whose no-show does not eat the whole chair. Glow does not invent your cancellation policy. It runs the one you typed. If you take cash on the day for small flash, that can stay cash. The software does not need to be the till.

Aftercare for a fresh tattoo is a week of questions. Send it once, properly, with a timestamp. The DMs will still happen. You will at least not be starting from 'I never got anything'. Guest artists can have a login for the week they are in. Their sittings still need consent and a batch. The guest leaving town is not an excuse for a hole in the book.
