Glow

32 piercing services, already on Glow.

One existing customer books lobes, helix, nose, navel and the rest through Glow - 32 piercing services in a 124-service menu. Consent is signed before they sit down. Aftercare goes out when you mark them done. Jewellery and needle batches sit on the visit.

What a piercing column needs recorded

Piercing is quick to do and long to explain afterwards. The claim, when it comes, is usually 'they never told me' or 'we do not know which jewellery went in'. Age, consent, aftercare and the batch number close those gaps. Local authorities already expect a studio to be able to show its paperwork. Glow is where that paperwork attaches to the booking instead of living in a folder behind the till.

Starter services cover lobe, helix, nose and navel. You edit the list. A second hole on the same visit is an add-on, not a new client record.

  • Age and consent on the booking, in the wording you set.
  • Aftercare they cannot say they never received.
  • Batch numbers for jewellery and needles, ready if Environmental Health or a claim asks.
  • Starter services for lobe, helix, nose and navel — edit the list.

Not a piercing-only app

One salon already runs piercings, nails, waxing, laser, facials, hair, tanning and tooth gems through Glow: 124 services across 12 categories, 17,000 bookings. Same product. Different menu.

If the same room also does nails or laser, those categories do not inherit piercing rules. Consent and batches stay on the services that need them.

Read tattoo and piercing consent in the UK. Glow will not tell a council you are compliant. It will show what you recorded and when.

Glow records what you set and shows when it was recorded. It does not decide what your insurer, council, pigment supplier or prescriber requires, and it does not claim a salon is compliant.

Walk-ins, pairs, and the second hole

Piercing days are bursts: two lobes, a helix, a parent waiting, a teenager who is not old enough for the thing they asked for. The form has to be fast and the rule has to be obvious. If the age question is required, they cannot skip it because the queue is long. If they add a second piercing, the duration and the jewellery batch have to follow the booking, not a note on a post-it.

Aftercare is where studios lose arguments. A printed card in a pocket is easy to deny. A message that left when you marked them done is dated. Infection questions three days later are easier when you can show what they were sent.

The same front door might also sell a gel or a brow. Those jobs do not inherit piercing consent. Categories carry their own weight. That is how a 124-service menu stays honest instead of becoming one 'appointment' type with a long title.

Anatomy matters on the menu. A lobe is not a daith. If the public page lists the holes you actually do, with times that include the talk and the mark-up, you stop the 4pm surprise. If you do not do a placement, do not list it. Clients will book what they can see.

Jewellery upgrades and downsizes are still visits. Give them a service. Put the new lot on that visit. The original piercing consent does not describe a hoop you swapped six months later. If you run a jewellery cabinet, the lot on the visit should match the piece in the ear, not the cheapest hoop in the unmarked pot. That is the inspection conversation.

Parents in the waiting room will ask if they can book for a sixteen-year-old. Your form and your policy have to answer before the artist is in the conversation. Put the age rule where they can see it. Glow will collect the answer. It will not interpret the law for you. If you turn them away, offer a date they can book, in writing, so the conversation does not restart every Saturday. Put that date on a reminder if they want one.

Questions

Is Glow only for dedicated piercing studios?
No. A mixed salon already runs 32 piercing services on the same page as nails, waxing and laser.
Can I record jewellery batches?
Yes. Batch fields sit on the appointment with the consent and the aftercare timestamp.
Does Glow check the client is 18?
You set the questions and the wording. Glow collects the answers and the signature before they sit down. Age law is still yours to apply.
Will this satisfy Environmental Health?
That is for your local authority and your own procedures. Glow shows what was recorded on that visit. It is not a licence and not a council inspection.
